Hi,

Started having abit lack of power dont know if its engine related.

From 1st gear which is fine then into 2nd when i put my foot down it holds back before it actually wants to go.

I'm talking literally a couple of seconds untill it builds the power up in 2nd and my foot is flat on the floor, but I dont want to do more damage than its worth if this is an internal problem ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

what revs is it doing in 2nd when you floor it? if its just doing around 1.5k it will be turbo lag which most turbos suffer

Dave mine is the non Turbo 125bhp, It's more the couple of seconds in between gear changes(1st to 2nd) im worried about for it to pick the revs up.

When I'm high revs in 1st then into 2nd it kinda struggles and makes me want to put it into 3rd gear because the it feels like the engine is suffering.

Really hard to explain without actually driving, Would you reccomend any chemical solutions that you dilute with your petrol that kinda flushes any inpurites that are there?

I've just had a full oil change too but doesn't seem to be that.

im out of my depth with that. The only thing i could think of could be air flow. But i've not worked on engines before, so thats just a wild guess

Cheers anyway mate,

Such a hard thing to explain so makes it difficult for somebody to diagnose. Not the air flow either checked the maf sensor and put in new filter.

I'm going to buy one of the bottles of solutions that you dilute with a full tank of petrol and run it through. That'll maybe clear the pistons and sort itself out.... fingers crossed :D

normally just taking the car a good run does the same trick. Take it a drive for an hour and rev it loads

Dave could be on the mark there with air flow, could be a MAF or clogged up throttle body etc. how did you check the MAF?

How have you checked the MAF?

Got it serviced/full oil change and boy checked the maf sensor, seemed fine :blabla: plus it's got a brand new air filter and air intake so I've ruled that out.

I will give you an update when I get to the bottom of this

hi do you know if it has a egr valve they can give poor performance ?
but best thing would have it plugged onto a scanner and see if there are any fault codes in ecu
then you know were to start.
