I have a couple of questions regarding the I.C.E in my 2001 Octavia Vrs.
I have a baby due soon and im looking to get rid of my bass box. The only thing is that i do not want to have a tinny sounding system in the car. How can i and is it possible get some decent sound from normal speakers in the car with a bit of Bass.

Also what size speakers would i need to replace the front door speakers and
the rear door speakers.

ATM I have an alpline 9871R head unit.

I believe the fronts are 16.5cm/17cm but you need to be careful of the depth of any new speaker you get, Alpine do quite a thin speaker normally.

Rears I think are 13cm's

Its probably best to check to make sure though!

Have you considered a alpine active sub? They are quite small, would easily fit in the space opposite the cd changer.

Wouldn't bother with active sub to be honest. My personal choice would be go for nice set of amped components, if you install them properly (doors deadened and sealed, and mounted to some nice 18mm mdf baffles) then you should here a hell of an improvement. If you wanted a sub still then maybe use a 4 channel amp bridged down to 3 then add a JL audio 8w3v3 sub in JL slot ported box, had one in my old car surprising amount of punch for such a small box (some people thought I was running a 12)

Thanks
