Richard Lloyd Mk1 Golf GTI BTCC original 1979 A3 drawing

Have found this original pencil drawing by Gerry Ball so chucked it on Ebay to see if I've stumbled across something quite unique / collectable. :)

I also have this VW scirrocco, also driven by Lloyd, but not sure what to do with this one. Not gone on Ebay yet though.

Have since found out from my Dad these were ORIGINAL drawings done by THE Gerry Ball back in 1979 for my Dad, as he did some promo work for VW. Nice to know they're the real thing! :D

Well, the mk1 golf is proving kind of popular at this early stage on fleabay and I have a gallery getting in touch with Gerry Ball on my behalf.

Thanks :) The gallery got back in touch and it turns out there are 2 gerry balls. One is an artist known for his oil paintings and another is a reputed book illustrator that I also gather does oil paintings. Anyway, it is the illustrator that did these drawings, not the artist.

I have since found on clubgti that there were copies made of these drawings at the time, but these are the originals. ;)

Yeah - I only wish they'd not been used as display bits before as the pin holes detract somewhat. Still - originals as you say.

I think the scirocco will follow to be honest.
